MY STORY

Having interest in different healing methods feels almost like a second nature to me. When I started working as a nurse, I often came across patients who chose additional healing methods as a complement to traditional medical care. This demand usually came from a lack of emotional assistance or empathy by professionals. Later, healthcare professionals anticipated on this need by seeing the patient as a whole entity. A holistic view, in which the body, the mind and the soul are inextricably linked, became the foundation of our nursing practice. And as a result, the knowledge about other healing methods expanded.

To this day I have been working with this same holistic principle. Later, during the 1st and 2nd degree teacher education and as education coordinator at the education for oncology nurse, I have been able to adopt this view.

In 2009, I “discovered” Reiki for myself. By this time I lived in France where I completed courses Reiki 1 and Reiki 2. By working with Reiki I was able to get to know myself in a different way, become more conscious of my inner being and feel more closely connected to the inner self. Although not always easy, it has been an invaluable experience to see the power and possibilities of Reiki for myself and to be able to share them with others.

In 2016, when my husband and I ended our business in France, I intuitively felt that this opened a new door. Making Reiki into my life’s work would be a logical next step for me. A path I tread on with great pleasure and wonder every day.

My Reiki practice "A Mano" mirrors my life. I have a home base in the Netherlands and in France, and a flexible practice in Italy (Sicily). This enhances my possibilities to give Reiki treatments and training. I experience both the treatments as the inaugurations as something great and unique.
